After a blogger meet-up I realized that I am the only honest blogger in this area. Spyder didn’t bring her “wonderful man” along. Janet came without kids and didn’t ramble or rant. Waldo Oiseau didn’t bring her camera. XO wasn’t as scary and intimidating as he looks on his picture (although he was hip if I may say so). Chimpo, although got very close still didn’t look like a monkey picture on his blog. Librarian didn’t bring any books. Dan was not handing out some democratic propaganda fliers. Logtar … well I got nothing on him, and his wife was nice to me, which I didn’t deserve. Happy in Bag, I am not sure where his bag was, and I think his sport injury sucked all the “happy” out of him. Who did I leave out?
Only I, the most honest blogger in this area, brought my Russian accent and used it too.
Several things:
- Thanks to Spyder for periodic and frequent roll-calls. I think I still managed to miss a few people.
- I still like to meet Midtown Miscreant, I enjoy reading him and will enjoy meeting him.
- Same goes for the Filegirl. I saved my special Russian accent material for her.
- I wish there was a better seating arrangement, because I didn’t get to talk to everyone, that would require me getting up and I am lazy. On the other hand, I am sure next time Janet will try to sit next to someone who is a lot more fun.
- To those who keep track: my relationship with Heather remains virtual, I am hoping soon to get to the virtual first base, whatever it may be.
- I think calling real people by their blog names is silly. Meesha happenes to be my real name, but I can’t bring myself to call someone “chimpo” even if he is a borscht-hating s.o.b.
- Writing posts with lots of links sucks.

It was really good to meet you tonight Meesha. Wish we had had time to visit.
But just being a witness to you calling Dan from Gone Mild a Commie was priceless!
You realize, of course, that being declared a “commie” by a Russian Jew gives Dan incredible pinko street cred!
You played right into his hands!
Until our next meeting, comrade!

I like calling you Meesha!
It was nice meeting you, even though we probably should have said hi earlier… it was weird standing by the bathroom while I was waiting for my wife and not talking… you should have said hi.
look forward to the next time we meet! Where can I get some good Russian food around here?

It was very nice to meet you! I didn’t think you were boring at all, either.

Hi there! I’m Logtar’s wife aka Bea (I prefer the second, ha ha ha!). It was nice meeting you.

It was great meeting you! Kanga was gaming today. Hopefully he will get to meet you at the next gathering.

Michelle, when I found out you were there too I was pissed that I had to leave early. I am a big fan. On the other hand you wouldn’t have a chair. I was also upset that I missed KC Beer Blog guy. I have all 4 Smokestack bottles in my trunk as a souvenir for my ST.Louis friends, and I found out about on his blog.

When I was in college, some girl called and asked for my roommate by has online handle. It was one of the queerest moments of my life. So having to introduce myself as Chimpo last night was a new low for me.
P.S. Why were you staring at me while lurking outside the bathrooms? I think that might be another reason you’re single.

I’m glad you went and were able to meet people! They’re not such a scary crew.

Sorry I couldn’t get over there to talk to you until right as you were leaving. I always enjoy speaking to Russians.

Chimpo, I was waiting for my child who was sick in the bathroom, what was your exuse for hanging out there.

It was a pleasure to meet some new people, and your daughter (I didn’t realize she was sick) was an angel to sit through that much time with a bunch of gabbing adults.

Dan, she is allergic to nuts and she ate some in the apple cobbler, she was actually OK after a trip to the restroom. It was nice to meet you too. Don’t take my comments personally, I know you are not a real commie, not until you read Capital.

Damn you bloggers and your weekend gatherings!!
However, I do think I deserve some credit for encouraging Meesha to attend the meetup. Men usually do what I want them to do.

Heather, you will have to teach me your trick with men. That would be very valuable to know.
Meesha, I don’t usually take photos at the meet ups because it seems that too many bloggers have secret hidden identities and I can’t keep them all straight! Besides, have you noticed that I’m a failure at posting a photo every day, even though that’s what my blog is called? Apparently, I am very lazy!
Be prepared to have your photo taken at the next gathering.

I am not photogenic but you can always concentrate on much better looking people.
You can always rename your blog “Kansas City Once in Awhile Photo” so you don’t feel pressured to post daily.
