After my co-workers saw me eating a Mexican Torta from Las Tortugas they had to have some too. We had some for lunch yesterday and each sandwich easily fed two grown men. We also ordered chips and salsa both made daily in the restaurant. If you like salsa make sure to ask for a larger quantity because they dispense it in tiny cups. Inflation finally made it to KCK, the sandwich costs $5.75 now, still a bargain.
Next to Las Tortugas I noticed Cafe Venezuela, that may be something to try next.
And speaking about good Mexican food, we went to Mi Ranchito on Thursday and it was very good. Probably the freshest, tastiest chips I ever had. But it’s in Johnson County and you pay a toll for not having to go to KCK and risk your life procuring food. Here is a picture of some chicken tortilla soup. It was very good and not the usual thick kind.
My post about Postcrossing went unnoticed but I am happy to report that we received cards from Japan and Australia and the first thing that my daughter wants to do when we get home is check the mail. And so do I. I have the key so I win every time.
Local photographer extraordinaire Eric B. mentioned here moved his blog to a new location, his pictures are still amazing including some shots he made while hanging out of the helicopter on a cold day(scroll down in this set). Update your links if you haven’t done so.

Mi Ranchito is pretty good. I like Chapala too.
