Few little things that don’t deserve their own posts:
- Reader Jeannine shares her concern about Las Tortugas going out of business unless all of you start eating there immediately, so please do. Jeannine, I do what I can, one torta at a time.
- According to the recent poll most of you don’t care about the environment as long as your milk comes in a bag. My polls are giving Gallup a run for their money on accuracy and sample size and I don’t annoy people with stupid phone calls.
- While on the subject of Gallup: a new poll indicates that just half of Americans complain tax bill is too high. The other half just doesn’t pay. Your vote depends on which half you think doesn’t pay.
- Finally this area has it’s own candidate for the Darwin Awards. Way to go!
- Since I retired from social and dating life I am playing ( a lot) with my new camera. Here are some shots of Hershey’s Kissables I brought home from work.

The other half doesn’t pay? You mean the other half gets a refund from what they already paid over the course of the year in payroll deductions, I presume. Unless you mean that 50% of the poll respondents are non-income earners with no capital gains or working under the table. There are certainly arguments to be made about who is paying too much or too little, but Uncle Sam’s got his hands in just about everybody’s pockets.

I meant that some people think that the rich use tax breaks and don’t pay (or don’t pay their “fair share”) while other people think that the poor don’t pay, with most of the tax refunded and EIC on top. I don’t want to go looking for numbers so just take it as my personal opinion.
