Ode to Trader Joe’s

May 26th, 2008 · 7 Comments

On the way back from the weekend trip to St.Louis I composed this piece of fine poetry:

O, Trader Joe’s, I’m drawn to you
Like light-attracted bug.
I have to drive two hundred miles
To buy your legal drug.

O, CEO of Trader Joe’s,
Please clear up this mess
So I can have my choco-fix
And also save on gas!

Trader Joes

Someone I know from this area begged and pleaded for them to open a store here and got a big NO WAY answer. Sigh.

    I can still dream, right?

It sucks. But thems the breaks!

My sister is sending me some random breakfast bars she buys at the one in her neighborhood (in CA) this week. I can’t wait to try them…

I used to be disappointed that CPK (i.e. California Pizza Kitchen) thought themselves above the KC area, and wrote to them every 6 months asking them to please consider opening a restaurant here in KC, either on the Plaza or in South JoCo somewhere.

Took me 3 years, but it worked. We now have two of them…one on the Plaza, and one in South JoCo. Perhaps I should try my hand at contacting TJ’s.

Faith, did they at least have the decency to dedicate KC CPK to you?
