Are you pretty good at recognizing a person’s country of origin by their accent? Test your skills at the Accent Game. As I expected, my score was pretty low, but to my defense they picked pretty good English speakers and each one of them only read two lines from Rudyard Kipling’s poem “If”.
Lucky for you, you don’t have to guess where my sexy accent is from…

God this was painful, but I got 26 points!
And the Scotsman was totally fake. I’ve never heard a Scotsman I could understand.

This was fascinating! (I got a fairly respectable 25 points) Somehow I can distinguish someone from Birmingham in the UK but I can’t distinguish someone (allegedly) from Indiana. But no fair of them making us choose among places like Lithuania and Belarus - that’s just mean!

Like I said they didn’t pick anyone who sounds like me or Arnold S. Also does “from Indiana” mean “currently residing” or “learned to speak ” in Indiana. Belorussian is similar to Russian and Ukrainian from the Slavic group and Lithuanian is from Baltic group.
