Due to increased number of spam comments I turned on a spam-fighting plug-in on this blog. I have used it before but suspected that it trashed some comments without letting me know. If you don’t see your comment posted, please take a moment to email me. I don’t moderate, review or delete any comments so ideally your reply should show up right away.
I appreciate every comment, so please don’t hesitate to let me know if something doesn’t work.

Last I looked, Akismet had snagged about 70,000 spams off my site. Very few false positives that I’ve noticed.

125 spam for me so far, I wasn’t getting any spam even without it until last week

Well that’s odd. I thought that the increase in spam after I installed Akismet (caught spam, that is) was due to my removing WP Hashcash (the previous comment-spam countermeasure I was using. Do you think it’s inflating its numbers to make itself look useful?

mine is still at 191, that’s pretty legit number. not sure where yours came from.
