Those photos look like Stalinism to me, not socialism. Real honest-to-God socialists have a record of building economies that kick ass….Emilia-Romagna’s economy for example. 4 Million people. 115,000 MANUFACTURING firms providing hundreds of thousands of well-paying jobs. Ain’t no reich-wing RepubliKKKan that can match that record. So, what do Italian commies know about freeing up the energies of a market economy that the reich-wing here in Kansas City doesn’t know?

This was a senior senator Schumer from NY and yes, he thought it was a good idea. I linked the clip elsewhere. you can look it up on youtube. He said something like “the chattering class” should not question what we put in this bill.

@Meesha: Funny, over 60 US Senators said they thought the bill was a good idea when they passed it. This must have been an extra-super credible Senator you heard. Or was he just saying something you wanted to believe anyway, and now you refer to him to lend credibility to your knee-jerk cynicism?
