I'd rather look like Roy. Everyone's so busy trying to make their appearance more vanilla so they never have to defend their grooming standards/selections.

I actually said that I have no idea about their actual characters. However, somehow old time bosses seem to be tougher-looking, I bet I can pull up a ton of examples. I just ran into this photo by accident and thought it would be fun to connect the two.
Like you said making over-the-top connection is fun, like linking segregation to a photo of some school kids at the gallery.Actually the year these photos were taken is 1954, the year when "Brown" decision was issued.

I can't argue with you that the first photo is very cool and the second is not.

I'm just not big on judging people based on looks . . . Mocking them is fine (and fun) but making assumptions about their capabilities based solely on a photo is . . . bloggy.

Additionally . . . I think one thing that shouldn't be overlooked in this comparison is that they're both probably about the same age in their respective photos. So, if we're going to judge based solely on looks, in at least one category Zieman has the win.

This made me laugh. Every word is totally true. I grew up in rural Wisconsin and miss those old people so much. They don't make them like that anymore and it's not just the suspenders holding up the baggy pants or the beehive hairdos on the church ladies. People's actual features look different these days.
