After seeing a historic courthouse in Pittsfield,IL I searched the Life Magazine Archives for the photos of old courthouses in Kansas in Missouri. There were just a few.
Pettis Co. Courthouse in Sedalia, MO.
Cars crowding the parking lot in front of the courthouse in Independence, MO.
Pike County Courthouse in Bowling Green, MO.
I usually limit my old photo posts to KS and MO, but here is a link to other courthouse photos around the country.
Thanks to JJS in KCK for the idea.

Nice photos…I enjoyed them, and love looking at photos taken when I was young. I think the one in front of the JXCO courthouse was a 53 Ford sedan.
St. Joseph is a bit of a cultural pit but the courthouse there is pretty old-school terrific. just fyi, in case you run into it.
Mo Rage
btw, that would be Buchanan County (courthouse)
The Buchanan County courthouse is nice. I like that it has open and obvious stairs. I hate going to a building that only has a few floors and everyone is forced to cramp into a crappy elevator because the stairs are hidden away, or locked from the outside (only intended for use going down and out in case of fire).
