I used to smoke, just like I used to be not too fat or grumpy or whatever else. I quit long time ago, became fat and grumpy and whatever else. My reasons for quitting were simple: my daughter was on the way and my workplace banned indoor smoking when outside temperature was below zero. I [...]

Since it’s so hard to increase the number of readers on this here blog, I will be taking an easier route and will just try to increase the weight of my existing visitors. Once again I’d like to bring to your attention a golden opportunity to fatten up on a free McDonald’s Southern Style Biscuit [...]
And the Dove Came in to Him….

Most religions start with some kind of revelation. Some guy while walking in the woods finds golden plates, next thing you know, two scmucks are knocking on your door asking strange questions. An old man walks to the top of the mountain, comes down with a couple of stone tablets, next thing you know I [...]

Ukrainian Gourmet: Smoked Salo
August 6th, 2008 · 6 Comments
WARNING: This post is not kosher on any day of the year.

Beef,It’s What’s for Dinner, or how to confuse a cat…
June 1st, 2008 · 4 Comments
First of all, after I started writing this post, I looked up the infamous “Beef it’s what’s for dinner” slogan and something didn’t sound right for me. I am not a grammar expert but doesn’t this sentence have two words “is” in it, as in “Beef, it is what is for dinner”. Is it the [...]

Ode to Trader Joe’s
May 26th, 2008 · 7 Comments
On the way back from the weekend trip to St.Louis I composed this piece of fine poetry:
O, Trader Joe’s, I’m drawn to you
Like light-attracted bug.
I have to drive two hundred miles
To buy your legal drug.
O, CEO of Trader Joe’s,
Please clear up this mess
So I can have my choco-fix
And also save on gas!
