What’s funny is that the impression we (or at least I) got from watching 80’s-era American media was that Russia always looked like that, no matter the location or the season. Reporters always stood in front of Red Square with big fur coats on and snow always trickling down in the background.
I’m glad we never had propaganda.
Russia has non-winter? Like Cara, that’s news to me. I thought summer in Russia was restricted to the Black Sea and trips to Cuba.

They are shoveling snow onto a conveyor belt to be loaded into a truck. Russian women often did manual hard work-equality of sexes all the way.
